This design grabbed me the first time I saw it! I’d never heard of it before. Not many had. I can imagine what the Army thought when they saw it back in the late ’30s. It looks like it was pulled straight from Buck Rogers, but sprang from the minds of the brilliant engineers at Lockheed who would later form the “Skunk Works”. Had it been developed it would have been a very significant, dominant aircraft. The concept for these renderings was simple: take what was essentially a “paper plane” (design only, never built) and put it in the air!
These are all available as unlimited edition prints at both Zazzle and Redbubble. Please feel free to click-on-over and take a look. If you, or someone you know, appreciates little-known vintage aircraft designs, one of these may be a fit for their office or hangar collection.
Thanks for sharing some time with me!
