Further Metal Changes

Well, baseball season may be at an end this evening!  Hard to believe the Cubs are losing ground in the World Series like they are.  That’s baseball, though.  I’m not normally a Cubs fan, but with half my family being from the north side of Chicago, it’s kind of hard not to root for them.  Both they, and the Indians, have played some great baseball this season.  Someone has to win the series.  Looks like it may not be the Cubs year.  Again.

Work on the B-51 progresses.  As you can see, I made s few changes to the metal finish.  Glossy and more reflective in some areas, not so much in others.  I ditched the panel lines, and any bump maps, entirely.  The rivets, and different panels having varied gloss and reflection levels,  can illustrate the panel lines better without actually having the visible (or bump mapped) panel lines.  Looks cleaner this way, I think.

The visibility of the rivet level will have to be played with a bit.  I’m still working on the fuselage and haven’t touched the wings, engines, or either of the stabilizers.

More work ahead.  Hopefully less subtle changes for the next post.  Until then…
